Bonaire Manor was part of a land grant/patent issued in 1696 to Daniel Benson. Historical records indicate that a house was built at the present site in the early 1800's, while the major portion of the existing structure was completed some 60 years later, constructed of Ellicott City granite. At that time it served as the manor house for a 400 acre wheat farm.
